Here you overlay lattimo glass (= milky looking glass) with a layer of transparent coloured glass. Gold or silver leaves were partly used to enhance the transparency effect.
Venini & C., Fratelli Toso, Vetreria Artistica Barovier & C. used this technique very often in the 20s and 30s.
